Bunbury Swimming Club is fortunate to have the most experienced and stable Coaching team in the South West region.  As the premier regional swimming club in the State, we strive for a very high standard of coaching which ultimately leads to the success and enjoyment of our swimmers.

Our Coaches are dedicated, passionate and fun. They care about their swimmers and enjoy watching each swimmer develop and succeed in their own way, in their own time.

They are, highly skilled and able to help Squad Members set goals and achieve the results they are striving for.


Our Coaches have high standards and expect the same in return. They work closely to ensure consistency in approach and a cohesive coaching team for the benefit of Squad Members.

Toni Moore

Head Coach / Club Development Coordinator

(Bronze ASCTA Coach)

Toni is a former Bunbury Swimming Club swimmer who has now returned in a Coaching and Development role. During her swimming career she set 30 State Records, broke over 500 Bunbury Swimming Club Records, won 15 National Age and National Open medals and swam in numerous State and National Age and Open teams.


Toni is a qualified Bronze Licensed ASCTA Coach and completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology and Exercise Science in Houston, USA, where she also captained the Rice University Swim Team.


She has also hosted and attended many camps for senior and junior swimmers in the South West Region.

Toni is committed to helping swimmers reach their full potential in and out of the pool.

Nick Ciffolilli

Performance Coach

(Silver ASCTA Coach)

Nick has been an accredited coach for over 30 years experience. He is currently our Performance Coach and also a Life Member of the Bunbury Swimming Club.

He has had great success coaching at both State and National levels, and in 2016 he had two swimmers qualify for Australian Open Water Championships. In 2017, five of Nick's squad swimmers qualified for the Australian Age Championships, and four have qualified for the 2017 Australian Open Water Championships.

Nick has not only served as a mentor for up and coming Coaches and hosted swim clinics within our Region, but he has also been Assistant Coach at many National camps throughout Australia.

He has achieved many accolades during this time including WA Swimming Country Coach of the Year and Community Coach of the Year by the Department of Sport and Recreation.

Nick is a dedicated Coach who has the one aim of helping each and every swimmer achieve their personal goals.

Tahlia Jensen

Development Coach

Tahlia has been swimming for as long as she can remember and joined Bunbury Swimming Club as a junior swimmer in 2007.


She is currently a member of our Performance Squad continuing to compete in the pool and Open Water at State/National level and qualified to swim at the Australian Open Water Championships in 2016 and 2017.


Tahlia is passionate about her swimming and has completed the ASCTA course so she can help young swimmers improve their swimming skills. She is the Club Captain for the 2016/17 season and provides positive leadership to all members of the Club.

Mickie Castieau

Bronze ASCTA Coach

Mickie has been Coaching for over 20 years. She began as a swimmer with the Bunbury Swimming Club, and has had her own children swimming with the club since 1995.  Mickie loves the sport of swimming, especially the swimmers.

Stephen Saffy

Bronze ASCTA Coach

Stephen spent many training hours in the pool qualifying for National competition at a young age in his homeland, South Africa. He competed in the South African Waterpolo team and knows the dedication involved in the sport of swimming.


He is committed to developing young Swimmers, to assist them in setting potential goals and to recognise their personal achievements. Stephen values the team ethos of Club swimming and hopes to instil this in the swimmers he coaches.

Sean Stewart

Bronze ASCTA Coach

Sean has been coaching for over 4 years. He grew up in chilly Canberra and enjoyed swimming and playing basketball. Sean is committed to helping swimmers work towards their personal goals and improve in all areas of their swimming.

Kim Shepherd

Bronze ASCTA Coach

Kim was born in Jersey in the Channel Islands and began teaching school swimming in the UK in 1995. She has been teaching at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School for 8 years now. She really enjoys watching the long term journey of her school swimmers particularly those who started swimming with her in junior school and are now competing in the Rottnest Channel Swim.

Tracy Johnson


Tracy and her family moved south from Port Hedland in 2015. They were keen members of the Hedland Swimming Club during their time up north where Tracy also coached. She is a Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Swimming accredited ASCTA Coach. She enjoys spending time with the kids at training and encouraging them to get the most out of themselves during each session. Tracy is also a Learn-to-Swim teacher at the Leschenault Leisure Centre.

Courtney Lee

Assistant Coach

Courtney joined the Bunbury Swimming Club in 2016. She is a member of the Performance National training squad and a national qualifier in both pool and open water competition. She recently completed her Swim Australia Teacher of Competitive Swimming course and is working towards completing her accreditation. She loves spending time with the Club’s junior swimmers and is a positive role model for all of them.
