Time Trials Wrap Up

First up for the evening was the Barbour Cup 100m Butterfly final. This event is won by the person who swims CLOSEST to their club personal best for the season. Courtney Lee and Tahlia Jensen must have overlooked this fact, as Courtney improved her time by over 9 seconds and Tahlia by more than 5 seconds! The Barbour Cup is to be continued this Friday evening. Due to a technical fault, Noah Horrobin did not get a time for his swim and has graciously accepted an invitation to repeat the swim this Friday evening. Good luck Noah! The Olive Smith Cup 100m Breaststroke Final was also up for grabs. Georgia Saffy and Jonty Richings were the leaders in this race both substantially improving upon their handicaps. All Cup winners will be announced 28th April at the club presentation evening. Please watch out for details in the a future issue of the newsletter. For the second week running, Aiden Hill was the highest participation and improvement scorer. Aiden improved his times in 3 of his 4 events. Well done Aiden. For the first time this season, the jubilant Yellow team took out this Ciffolilli Family relay event. Special mention to Jye Jensen who was acting Blue team captain and had to organise 6 swimmers over 14 legs. Results can be found here on the website. This Friday is our last time trial meet for the season. We will be having a pool pentathlon, consisting of the 200m IM, 50 Fly, Back, Breast and Free, followed by relays followed by a novelty event. The novelty event will be a Bomby competition with a prize going to the biggest splash with 'flare'. Pool resistant costumes are welcome (novelty event only) but, not essential.
