Rottnest Channel Swim - Results

Well done to all of our swimmers who participated in the Karma Resorts Rottnest Channel Swim on Saturday. The Rottnest Channel Swim is a 19.7km open water swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island that has become a highly regarded open water swim around the world. Swimmers can race in the following categories – Champions of the Channel (for elite solo, duo or teams), Solo, Duo, Team and the Lavan Charity Challenge. Courtney Lee, Kyle Lee and Ross Rann combined with Georgia Gianotti from Golden West Dolphins to win the Lavan Charity Challenge category this year! Their team “Shark Tale” were the first team overall and in their category (Mixed 56 years +). As part of the Charity Challenge, the team also raised money for the Ronald McDonald House charity. Well done guys amazing job! Tahlia Jensen and Jye Jensen competed in the Champions of the Channel (COTC) category which was introduced in 2016 for the most elite open water swimmers who depart Cottesloe Beach in the first wave of the day. They swam exceptionally well finishing first in their category (Mixed Duo 28 years +) and were 13th across the line overall of all the COTC entrants. Out of nearly 400 teams racing on the day, Megan Fowler and Gabby Long finished 51st and Raji Madigasekara finished 82nd. Simona Vychytilova finished 70th in the Duo category. Well done to everyone on such a great result!
