A team of 15 swimmers from the Bunbury Swimming Club competed against the best in the State at the State Junior Long Course Championships in Perth on the weekend.
Amy Kerr (11) won an impressive 3 gold medals taking out the trifecta in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events.
Sam Ellis (12) won gold in the 200m butterfly, silver in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 400m individual medley. He also secured another 7 top 8 placings and 10 personal best times overall.
Alex Saffy (11) won gold in the 200m butterfly taking over 7 seconds off his personal best time.
Overall the Club won 5 State Championship medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze) and set 50 new personal best times.
Head Coach Toni Moore said all the Bunbury swimmers performed well and achieved personal best times which is a rewarding way for our junior swimmers to finish off a very successful summer season.
