We had a fantastic day at the Harvey Open Carnival on the weekend - well done to all the swimmers that competed!! We had approximately 20 new times posted, LOTS of new PBs (personal bests) were achieved and many medals were won. I was very pleased to see that all our swimmers worked hard on their skills during training last week and applied them well during competition particularly backstroke finishes. Swimming backstroke in an outdoor pool on a sunny day can be challenging at times but all of our swimmers did a superb job. We finished off the day with some exciting team relays and thank you to ALL the swimmers that took part. The 7-12yrs mixed freestyle relay team Samuel Ellis, Lexie Edwards, Alex Saffy and Kaiden Richings won the Gold medal. The 12-16yrs mixed freestyle relay Alice Johnson, Noah Eichner, Simona Vychytilova and Guy Castieau and the Open mixed freestyle relay Guy Castieau, Simona Vychitilova, Samuel Ellis and Kaiden Richings won the Silver medal. Thank you to all the parents who helped out with setting up marquees and timekeeping on the day and special mention must also go to the Harvey Swimming Club who were wonderful hosts and ran a quick efficient meet that was finished by 3pm much to the delight of everyone.
