Bunbury’s Jye Jensen has been selected in the Swimming WA Performance Pathway Programme’s Gold Squad this year after winning silver in the Boys 14 years 5km open water nationals earlier this year. Selection in the Gold Squad is based on times achieved at the previous Australian Age Championships and also placings at the previous Australian Open Water Championships. As part of the Gold Squad, Jye attended a goal setting clinic in Perth on the weekend with Swimming WA State Head Coach and former Australian Olympic Team Head Coach Leigh Nugent and WAIS psychologist Matt Burgin. In January he will also have the opportunity to attend a week long training camp in Perth with Leigh Nugent and a team of top coaches and fellow swimmers. Keep up the great work Jye!
