Bunbury Success at OWS Rd 2

What a perfect day Busselton provided our Bunbury competitors on Saturday for Round 2 of the Open Water Season. In flat, clear water where you could see the crabs and not a stinger in sight our 10 brave swimmers entered the not so cold water. They did Bunbury Swimming Club proud with all 10 swimmers finishing in the top 5 in their age divisions. Congratulations to our 500m competitors Ariane Diggins 2nd U15 girls, Ruby-Anne Stokes 5th U15 girls and James Ison 3rd U15 boys. A big thank you to Chaperone Tahlia Jensen. 1.25km competitors Tom Davis 2nd U15 boys, Matilda Richings 4th U15 girls and Paige Runeckles Silver medal Open Womens. 2.5km was won convincingly by Tahlia Jensen taking Gold in the Open Women's, and in her very first open water swim Amy Kerr won Silver in the U15 Girls and is now looking forward to many more. Lastly the casual 5km swim, which was very fiercely fought out with Kyle Lee taking out Silver in the U18 boys, Owen Cattaway also earned himself Silver in the U15 boys. Congratulations to all these swimmers and good luck to those swimming at Coogee this Saturday. GO BUNBURY!
