Our last time trial evening for the summer season was the largest with forty swimmers taking to the water. A big thanks to all our parent helpers who made the evening run so smoothly.
There were some fantastic PBs for the evening, particularly in butterfly, with Tiare Crowder, Jack Doust, Georgia Hales, Eleanor Hawking, and Tyler Richings all improving their times by over 3 seconds. Noah Horrobin was the butterfly standout improving his 50m time by a whopping 12.85 seconds. Well done Noah!
Lily Hales had an outstanding 50m breaststroke swim improving her time by 12.52 seconds and Aiden Hill also did well in this event improving his time by 5.14 seconds.
Owen Cattaway made a triumphant return to time trials improving his time in every event.
Without a cup swim to spur everyone on, the end of season novelty event became the focal point of the evening. So much so we had to add two extra heats. As the stakes were high, with a chocolate Easter bunny as the prize, we had to be strict on the rules. There were a number of DQs with some questionable lifesaving backstroke. Our eventual winners were Arabella Stewart, Kaiden Richings, Jye Jensen, Alex Saffy and Thomas Ellis.
The evening ended in the Ciffolilli Shield relays. Almost all teams were full with only a few swimmers having to swim twice. The Yellow team were victorious with Jye Jensen bringing the team home for their first relay win for the season.
Good luck to all our Junior State Championship swimmers in April!
