Round 5 turned into an eventful night with 2 cup finals, a wifi outage and the Ciffolilli Family Shield Relays.
A warm welcome to Laughlan Davies and Sanjan O’Brien participating in their first time trial meet.
The Neil Earl Cup 100m freestyle went down to a battle of the siblings with Jye Davies playing catch me if you can with brother, Joel Davies. In the end, less than a second separated the brothers. There were nervous moments in the Davies Cup 50m Butterfly, with the timing equipment having failed on the previous heat. The good news is, there was a clear winner and times for the event were accurate. Cup winners will be announced at the presentation evening at the end of the summer swim season.
The swimmer with the highest improvement and participation points for the evening went to Eddie Trewren with 21 points. Eddie improved his times in 50m fly, backstroke and freestyle by more than 3 seconds per event. Well done Eddie!
A full list of results can be found on the BSC website.
A notice to the 11 swimmers competing in heats 5 and 6 of event 4, 50m Butterfly. The wifi signal failed at the end of heat 5 and during heat 6. Due to meet time constraints, it was decided to award each swimmer for this event their seed time and 3 points. Apologies, for the inconvenience.
The night ended with the Ciffolilli team relays. The mighty Green team was clearly victorious with team captains, Jye Jensen and Zoe Buck leading the way. The Yellow team had, by far, the most participants and although the race results were not has good as they had hoped, they will certainly make up for it in participation points.
The next time trial meet will be held on Friday 17th November.
