Congratulations to Jye Jensen (15) who was selected as a finalist in this year’s prestigious Myles Junior Sports Star of the Year Award. This year’s award comprised a very strong field of junior City of Bunbury athletes representing the sports of swimming, netball, sailing, hockey, athletics and squash. Jye had a hugely successful year winning a Silver medal in the Boys 15 years 5km event at the Australian Open Water Championships in January becoming the first member to ever win a medal in national open water competition. He also won the Winwood Trophy at the Club’s presentation night in April for the Club’s most outstanding swimmer. Jye was interviewed by a selection panel and attended the Awards Ceremony last week giving a fantastic presentation on the Club. Well done Jye!
