Congrats to our National OWS Team

We are very proud of our swimmers who excelled in the beautiful conditions at the Australian Open Water Championships in Adelaide on the weekend. Kyle Lee, Rori Parsons, Lexie Edwards, Amity Parsons and Kaiden Richings all travelled to Brighton Beach with their Performance Coach Nick Ciffolilli to compete in the 5km open water events.

Kyle took over 6 minutes off his personal best time to claim the GOLD medal in the Boys 16 years 5km event becoming the first ever national open water champion for Bunbury!! This is an amazing improvement on his 8th place finish in the event last year.

Rori finished 7th in the Girls 16 years 5km event which is Rori’s highest finish in a national event to date. She also took over 2 minutes off her personal best time.

Lexie and Amity finished 10th and 11th respectively in the Girls 14 years and under 5km event with both of them improving their personal best times by more than 4 minutes.

In the Boys 14 years 5km event, Kaiden finished 11th in a very competitive field at his first open water national event.

All five of our Bunbury swimmers finished in the TOP 12 at the national event which is a fantastic achievement and one that many of our up and coming swimmers in the Club will be inspired by. Congratulations team!
